Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs) are foreign organizations that are designated by the Secretary of State in accordance with section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), as amended, including the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), 8 U.S.C. 1101 et seq., the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), 50 U.S.C. 1701 et seq. Designated Foreign Terrorist Organizations play a critical role in America's fight against terrorism and are an effective means of curtailing support from U.S. Citizens, U.S. Business Owners, U.S. Visa Holders, and those U.S. adjacent to stop supporting terrorist activities and pressuring groups to get out of the terrorism business. U.S. law does permit the targetted-killing of U.S. Citizens engaged in terrorism; the confiscation of all assets; and imprisonment including the death penalty. The War on Terror established September 11, 2001, Attacks. |
